![]() ![]() Three or four nights - ? the goal here would be kayaking, boating thru fjords/inlets, possibly bear/whale tour, hiking. Two or three nights in Whistler - Sea to Sky Hwy with stops, horseback riding, hiking, etc. So far we are planning (flying from Florida):įirst night Vancouver - see Stanley Park, Capilano Suspension bridge, Grouse Mountain? The pictures I've seen in and around Egmont on the Sunshine Coast, for example, seem to be what I'm looking for. The east coast of Vancouver Island might be right for us, but I can't get a feel for it. So thinking two trips on the ferries (there and back) will be enough! We will have a vehicle, but I want to spend the least amount of time/money getting around.I know the ferries require both and patience to boot. I'm not interested in Victoria at this point and we don't spend time shopping. (We've visited beaches in Washington and Oregon, and not sure if Tofino is more of the same?) We like to do moderate hiking, kayaking, waterfalls, boating for scenery or to see wildlife, horseback riding, etc. Tofino/Ucluelet's beaches look awesome, but the fjords/inlets of Sunshine Coast look quite majestic. We are interested in being out of doors and staying and playing in scenic settings. I've always heard to go to Tofino, but after doing some research I'm starting to wonder. We will split up our time to see several areas, and Whistler looks like a definite destination for a few nights. After ruling out Alaska this year due to time constraints, I have now set my sights on the Vancouver area.
